About Joe

Joe

Hi Everybody. My name is Joe and I’m always looking for my next big adventure and new experiences (but with a realistic perspective). I’ll try anything once and if I could be one thing in life, I would be a modern renaissance man.

From kayaking in Alaska or parasailing in the Gulf of Mexico to dinner at the Missouri Governor’s Mansion or with friends in my apartment – I’ll take an awesome experience over a toy or gadget any day of the week.

By day I’m a public relations guy /publicist for one of Ad Age’s Top 10 PR Agencies of the Decade but am just one piece of the puzzle.

At night I’m a man about town hoping from dive bars to Broadway shows but my preference is anything outside (even if it’s raining).

At the risk of sounding too much like a Match.com profile, here are a couple quick facts about me:

  • I love being outside but I’ll stay up to 2 am watching a good sitcom: 30 Rock and How I Met Your Mother are my favorites. If I could be Jack Donaghy, I would.
  • My two sisters and I have traveled to all 50 states thanks to our wonderful parents.
  • I don’t have the rest of my life figured out but I know that someday I want kids and someday I want to live in New York, but I’ll never raise my kids in New York.

  1. PR and publicists tend to be quite different.

I totally agree. I’m definitely not a publicist like the publicists seen in Hollywood (or on Entourage) but my work is cross between traditional consumer facing PR campaigns and executive positioning. It makes for an interesting day because I’ll go from an event planning meeting or writing a press release to a meeting about an executive’s image and the next steps for developing positive exposure for him/her.
