Awkward First Date or Match Made in Heaven

“Hi, my name is Joe. What’s yours?”

“Great to meet you too. So what brings you here?”

“Awesome, well I hope we get to know each other better…”

“And for both our sakes, I hope this doesn’t turn into one of those awkward first dates where neither of us is really into the other but we suffer through it because we don’t want the other person to feel bad. Just know that if I end our conversation with ‘It was great to meet you,’ I probably won’t be calling you.”

“Glad to hear we’re on the same page. So what type of blog topics interest you?”

“I’m not 100% sure what kind of concoction this blog will turn into but if I had to guess I would say it’s like a Manhattan. The whiskey means business, the sweet vermouth and bitters add complex flavors due to a unique mixture of herbs and spices, and a playful maraschino cherry brings everything together.”

“I know it does sound good. In college I tied a couple different journaling styles but none really stuck until late last year when I starting blogging as a writing exercise. None of my family or friends knew about my blog because it wasn’t intended for anyone to see. Thankfully those posts are hidden away in a completely different site.”

“Yea, I’m hoping to push through the noise happening on Twitter, Facebook and other blogs, but my goal isn’t to be the “LeBron James of blogging”. It’s to publish a blog that celebrates the successes of life and provides content/case studies of value.”

And as a publicist (aka pr guy) we’ll have some fun talking the good and bad marketing campaigns, some stumbles and successes, and a little about life in general.”

“Wow – you’re still here. Mind if I give you a call some time?”

[Thanks for sticking with me. This is definitely a work in progress and it will take some time to work out all the kinks but I appreciate the support and already have topics in mind that celebrate the successes of my friends and family].
